Sex, Lies and Verizon. --- Horror Story of the Week
"I hadn't planned on spending my birthday weekend with Verizon. I had planned to have fun, go dancing, party with friends. Instead I got screwed, and Verizon had all the fun. Like a rotten lover, the kind who tells lies through a smile, makes false promises and falls asleep after getting what they want, Verizon left me dry."
So starts this customer's tale of a customer being lied to by the phone company, and that there's a work stoppage going on at the company because the Senior management is cutting staff and failing to pay basic overtime to their own workers. Verizon Goes After Telecom Activist, Teletruth Board Member.
Dan Berninger, telephone activist was served a subpoena to discuss
all communications and work done for a competitive local phone company,
Ntegrity, who has been harmed by Verizon.Dan had created the a web
page to explain to the public how a monopoly can essentially try to
put a competitor out of business. As Dan Berninger writes:"If
Verizon had in mind using subpoena power to intimidate a critic, this
would represent an abuse of the process and a sham."
Teletruth beleives that this is simply a case of harrassment by the monopoly, Verizon, trying to close down someone who is speaking truth to power. To read Dan Berninger's Letter to Ivan Seidenberg, Verizon CEO, or to take action and send your own letter, click here.
